Session faq’s

When should I book my session?

Due to the limited amount of sessions I take each month it is best to book sooner than later. For maternity sessions, it is best to book around 25 weeks. Maternity sessions are best done between 32-36 weeks. Newborn sessions are best booked in your second trimester, tentatively booked by your due date. Newborn sessions are best done between 6-12 days of age. If you know you are having a c-section we can book an exact day in advance. I understand that the due date is just a estimated guess so if baby comes before that due date or after the due date please don’t fret again call me when baby is born and we will work around it. It is best to add me to your list of contacts to call while in the hospital so we can get a firm session date. All other sessions are best booked about 4-6 weeks in advance. I sometimes have last minute openings, so please contact me and we’ll get you squeezed in!

How do I book?

Simply fill out the contact form and I will reply to you within 24-48 hours via email with current availability. Once the date is agreed upon, I will email you over the contract and invoice. If you have not heard from me, please check your junk email. You may also email me directly.

Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely! I understand that you want the very best images to preserve this fleeting time. I also understand that budgets are important. Custom photography is an investment. Session fees are due at the time of booking and that is all you need right now, the rest we work out at your reveal and ordering appointment. Click here to view the pricing guide.

How do I get setup for the baby registry?

You must have a your sessions booked with us. When you choose to participate in the registry I supply you with small cards to enclose with your shower invitations. The cards have all the information needed for gift givers to contribute to your custom portrait experience. I can also design and print your shower invitations that include the registry information as well. Please click here for full details on the gift registry.

When should a newborn be photographed?

The first days of a newborn are filled with awe and wonder. A newborn is BEST photographed within the first 12 days of your babies life that way baby is sleepy and moldable. This helps for capturing the sleeping and peaceful images easily. Baby is more alert after 13 days, baby acne and colic are common after this age. If there are medical issues I will work with you and your baby.

Do you have all the props I see?

Yes! I have gorgeous maternity gowns for my expectant mommas. What ever your style, we’re bound to have one that you love and will feel beautiful in. Our prop collection is extensive for our tiniest of clients. Furs, baskets, backdrops, hats and headbands are all available to you. We will design your session on your style and what you love!

What time do newborn sessions begin?

Newborn sessions are scheduled at 10 am.

Where are the newborn session taken and how long will they last?

Newborn session are done in my studio, I have everything I need on hand for your newborn session. Sessions typically last 2 to 3 hours.

What should my baby wear?

Store bought baby clothes tend to be bulky and do not fit babies properly. I work with specific venders to insure the outfits I use fit babies perfect. I will also photograph newborns in their birthday suit so I can capture the tininess of baby. When you come please dress baby in loose fitting onesie so it is easier to remove.

What should I wear?

Something comfortable. For the parent and baby images, I would recommend wearing a black, white or dressy shirt (no logos) and jeans. I may not even get a full body image. I recommend dressing in layers, it can get very warm.

Anything else I need to know?

It is best for baby to have a full tummy to ensure a happy and sleepy baby. This allows me move them, curl them and pose them. The studio will be about 85 degress for babys comfort but can get very warm for you. Bring plenty of diapers we will be using them as a bare necessity. I like to have a quiet, calm, and relaxing atmosphere that being said seating is very limited.
